Skyrim players will recall that the worship of Talos played a central role in one of the game's main storylines, as the belief that Tiber Septim that ascended to godhood after his death sharply contrasted against the Altmer (High Elf) belief that elves were descended from gods. This led to a bloody war between the Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire which was finally settled with a peace treaty (the White-Gold Corncordat) that banned the worship of Talos, something that didn't sit well with Skyrim's Nords and led to the Stormcloak Rebellion (a quest chain second in importance only to the return of dragons).
