This premium quality prop replica of the hat of Gandalf the Grey, worn by actor Ian McKellen in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been crafted by Stansborough to the exact size, design and proportions of the original.
Individually hand crafted from the unique and totally natural Stansborough Grey wool felted fabric, molded and hand stitched, like the original. The Stansborough Grey sheep are some of the rarest sheep in the world.
The hats are created individually by artisan craftspeople at Stansborough using traditional methods and vintage 19th century worsted looms. Each piece is carefully hand finished and processed without the use of chemicals. Right here in Middle-earth (New Zealand).
